Mike Noone has handled some of the highest profile criminal cases in Chester County over the last two decades. He has been the lead attorney on multiple murder investigations, including death penalty cases. He has coordinated the investigation of all sexual assaults and elder abuse cases in Chester County. He has been recognized as a leading expert on the heroin and opioid epidemic. He has conducted and supervised multiple grand jury investigations involving homicides, drug organizations, and public corruption. Mike brings his extensive trial experience as a former prosecutor to his private practice representing individuals charged with crimes and those who were injured by the neglect of others. Mike began his legal career at a Philadelphia law firm where he represented individuals and companies in commercial litigation matters in both state and federal court. Mike then served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office where he successfully prosecuted nearly every type of criminal case including murder, attempted murder, rape, aggravated assault, drug delivery and distribution, elder abuse, theft, home invasion robbery, sexual assault, animal abuse, and DUI.
In the time period between serving as an Assistant District Attorney and returning as First Assistant, Mike was in private practice in West Chester focusing on criminal defense and personal injury. Mike represented individuals charged with a variety of criminal offenses in both state and federal court. Mike’s clients included doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, executives, law enforcement officials, business owners, and citizens from every walk of life. Mike also represented people who suffered injuries due to the neglect of others.
As First Assistant District Attorney from 2012 to 2019, Mike served as the second in command of the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Mike supervised and trained an office of approximately 100 prosecutors, detectives, and staff members investigating and prosecuting crimes committed in Chester County. Mike supervised all the criminal trial teams, the juvenile unit, coordinated the investigation and prosecution all adult sexual assault cases and elder abuse cases, and served as co-chair of the Chester County Overdose Prevention Task Force. Mike was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Elder Abuse Task Force.
Mike implemented best practices to safeguard the integrity of the criminal justice system on such topics as eyewitness identifications, officer involved shooting investigations, and witness interviews.
Mike has given hundreds of presentations on topics such as drug abuse, the opioid epidemic, sexual assault investigations, elder abuse, trial advocacy, media relations, and the criminal justice system. Mike helped develop and teach the trial advocacy program for all new prosecutors in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
Mike is a graduate of Wilkes University where he was valedictorian and Villanova University School of Law where he was Chairperson of the Moot Court Board. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
