Meet Matt Borger
Matt Borger is a seasoned commercial litigator known for being a trusted advisor and a complex problem solver. His expertise spans all facets of state and federal civil litigation, focusing on business disputes, employment matters, restrictive covenant disputes, internal investigations, and contract negotiation. Additionally, his general civil work encompasses trusts and estates, securities filings, and real estate matters.
Currently, Matt is representing a 50% owner of an LLC in a challenging business divorce dispute.
In his role as a commercial litigator, he serves as outside general counsel to a Bala Cynwyd-based audit firm, where he prepares operating agreements and transaction documents, reviews leases, and represents the firm in both litigation and grand jury appearances.
Recently, Matt successfully defended an agricultural cooperative in a federal antitrust class action, settling plaintiffs' price fixing claims potentially valued over $100 million for just $50,000.
His extensive bankruptcy experience includes representing debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, and creditors’ committees in chapter 11 and chapter 7 cases, as well as in workouts.
Matt also defended a Philadelphia law firm in federal court against claims related to the actions of a former partner and represented a New York-based financial guaranty company as both plaintiff and defendant in various litigations involving a $110 million insurance exposure.
A graduate of Bates College magna cum laude with a degree in European History, Matt also earned his law degree from Cornell Law School and holds an L.L.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University School of Law. He began his legal career at a Wall Street firm in New York and another firm in Washington, DC, before relocating to the Philadelphia suburbs.
Having lived in Chester County for over twenty years, Matt and his wife Ann Juliano are proud parents of three daughters who attend Great Valley High School and Great Valley Middle School. When he is not practicing law, Matt enjoys skiing or spending time at the shore.
